It strikes me as a good delay for that reason- they're likely not fundamentally reworking the game, but tuning up projectiles, weight of units, sound, contrast of graphics, performance, etc. So I would not have panicked if CoH3 were to have launched on time, but there's a lot of addressable stuff that this delay will allow them to hit. The winter mode sucked, commanders were bad, and it was horribly balanced- but it got fixed. And CoH2 was pretty bad when it launched. They're not trying to reinvent something that worked like they did with DoW3. This game isn't fundamentally a terrible game like DoW3 was- it's hard to do that when it's built on a carbon copy of CoH1, one of the absolute best RTS games of all time. The game was in decent but not great shape last time we all got to test it, and time for some pretty specific fixes isn't the worst thing in the world.
